We're alive. We're sailing (mostly motoring), a lot. We're learning. We're moving and shaking down this whole living, working, cruising and boat systems deal. And, we're in Alaska! But it's taking more time than we thought, and sometimes one of the balls we're juggling falls out of the air.

Well it finally happened: we slipped the lines for the last time this morning from Van Isle Marina where SIRI has been either on the hard or in the marina for the past 3 years!

Since we bought SIRI in 2022, visiting the Butchart Gardens has been on our bucket list. We finally got to visit them recently: once this past fall, and again in early January during their "Magic of Christmas" display. To say the gardens lived up to the hype we had built up over the years would be an understatement.

As I write this, I am enjoying a rare calm, mostly sunny, warm-ish day on the bow of SIRI at our marina slip in Sidney, B.C., Canada, with DTessi snuggled up on a blanket at my feet.
